Welcome to Boostrix ("we", "our", "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome Extension and associated services.
Boostrix is designed with a local-first architecture. By default, all your data stays on your device. We believe your AI conversations are yours and yours alone.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Free Plan Users (Local Storage)
When you use Boostrix on the Free plan, we collect zero personal data. All saved pins, folders, and settings are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in local storage API. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
2.2 Pro Plan Users (Cloud Sync)
When you upgrade to Boostrix Pro and enable Cloud Sync, we collect and store:
- Account Information: Your email address and encrypted password, used for authentication via Supabase Auth.
- Synced Content: Your pinned messages, custom folders, and folder assignments. This data is stored securely in our Supabase cloud database to enable cross-device synchronization.
- Subscription Data: Your plan type (Monthly/Yearly) and subscription status. Payment processing is handled by third-party payment processors; we do not store credit card numbers.
2.3 Data We Never Collect
- We do not collect your browsing history.
- We do not read, store, or transmit your full AI chat conversations — only the specific messages you choose to pin.
- We do not track your activity across websites.
- We do not collect any analytics or telemetry data from the extension.
3. Chrome Extension Permissions
Boostrix requests only two Chrome permissions:
- storage: Used to save your pinned messages, custom folders, and extension settings locally on your device using Chrome's storage API.
- activeTab: Used to inject Boostrix's user interface elements (navigation buttons, pin buttons) into the currently active AI chat tab. This permission only activates on supported sites: chatgpt.com, claude.ai, and gemini.google.com.
We use the minimum permissions necessary to provide our functionality. We do not request access to "all URLs", your bookmarks, downloads, or any other browser data.
4. How We Use Your Information
For Pro users, we use your information solely to:
- Authenticate your account and manage your subscription.
- Synchronize your pinned messages and folders across your devices.
- Provide customer support when you contact us.
- Send critical service notifications (e.g., subscription changes, security alerts). We will never send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
5. Data Security
We take security seriously:
- All cloud data is stored in Supabase with Row Level Security (RLS) enabled, ensuring users can only access their own data.
- All data transmission uses HTTPS/TLS encryption.
- Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms via Supabase Auth.
- Our database is hosted in a secure data center in Mumbai, India (South Asia region).
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase: For authentication and cloud database storage (Pro users only). Supabase Privacy Policy
- Payment Processor: For subscription payments. We do not store or process credit card information directly.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
7. Data Retention & Deletion
For Free users, your data exists only in your browser's local storage. You can delete it anytime by clearing your browser data or clicking "Clear All" in the Boostrix popup.
For Pro users, your cloud data is retained as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all your data (pins, folders, profile) will be permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data at any time through the Boostrix extension or by exporting it as JSON.
- Delete your data at any time using the Clear All feature or by requesting account deletion.
- Export all your saved pins as a JSON file — your data is always portable.
- Opt out of Cloud Sync at any time by downgrading to the Free plan.
9. Children's Privacy
Boostrix is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via the extension's Settings Hub or through email (for Pro users). The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
